About This Blog

Hi, I'm a Japanese dad living in Tokyo with my wife and our 5-year-old daughter. On weekdays I work long hours like many Japanese fathers — but weekends belong to my daughter. Playgrounds, theme parks, aquariums, family hotels: we have tried them all, usually more than once.

When I looked at English guides about visiting Japan with kids, I noticed most of them are written by travelers who visited once. This blog is different: everything here is a place my daughter and I actually go to as locals. I know which day of the week the lines are short, which hotels lend baby gear for free, and which "famous" spots are honestly not worth your limited vacation time.

What you'll find here

  • Honest reviews of playgrounds and theme parks around Tokyo and beyond
  • Family hotel reviews with the details that matter (co-sleeping rules, cribs, baby baths)
  • Practical how-tos: riding the Shinkansen with a toddler, strollers in train stations, and more

(One small note: to keep my daughter's childhood off the internet, our photos show the places rather than our faces — but every experience here is real and first-hand.)
